Daniel Lee Gray Obituary

Daniel L. Gray, "Danny", 76, a 28-year resident of Glen Burnie and previously of Edgewater, MD, died on April 16, 2021 at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood, MD from heart failure following a long illness. Born October 20, 1944, in Washington, DC to the late Elise May (Halley) Gray Nacke and George Dale Gray, he worked at Silver Hill Sand & Gravel from 1969 to 1999 and Safeway from 1994 to 2012. Danny served his country in the U.S. Navy from October 31, 1961, to February 18, 1966, on board the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CV-42). He was a longtime member of American Legion Post 248 in Temple Hills and Post 226 in Mayo. Danny enjoyed doing word searches, playing Wii, and swimming with his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara Gray; five children, Daniel Gray of Seattle, WA, Amanda Ryan of Pasadena, MD, Dianne Gray of Florida, Vickie Hood of Pennsylvania, and Anita Hohman also of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Eleanora Musgrove of Frankfurt, DE and Cecelia Rinehart of Mayo, MD; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Danny's life on Saturday, May 15, at 1 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where Danny was a longtime member, 409 5th Ave SE, Glen Burnie, MD. Interment private. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Hwy., Pasadena, MD 21122.
