David T. Hall 8/26/1952-9/6/2019 On September 6, 2019, David Timothy Hall, lost his heroic year-long battle with cancer, joining his late father Frank M. Hall. He is survived by his wife, S. Lynn Hall, son David A. (Andy) Hall and his wife Tracy Pryce, and daughter Erin Elizabeth Hall, and grandson August James Pryce-Hall. David is also survived by his mother, Dorothy B. Hall, as well as his brothers F. Mark Hall (Anne), Patrick H. Hall (Kathy), John D. Hall (Lori) and Michael J. Hall (Kathy) as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and their children. David attended high school at Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore. He remained a proud alum and active supporter of the school including serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). David began his career as a physician’s assistant in Ocean City, Maryland following graduation from his training at Johns Hopkins University. He joined Spectera (formerly also known as United Healthcare and vision care retailer United Optical) in the company’s Care Management division in 1983, before becoming the company Senior Vice President of Sales and eventually CEO in 1996. David also fostered the sale of Spectera to healthcare giant United Health Group in 2001 and continued as CEO of the United’s UHC vision care and dental divisions until his retirement. Following an early retirement, David and Lynn relocated to Naples, Florida where they built their dream home together. He loved nothing more than manning the grill and watching the Ravens with friends and family. When there wasn’t a game on, he was an avid golfer and loved recounting tales of the beautiful meals his wife Lynn prepared for them. A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Joseph’s Monastery, 3801 Old Frederick Road at Monastery Avenue, Baltimore MD 21229 on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 11 am, where visitation will begin at 10:30 am.
