Elaine Kallmyer Roane, 89, of Hagerstown, MD passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Ravenwood Nursing Care Center, Hagerstown.
Born August 21, 1927 in Clear Spring, MD, she is the daughter of the late Albert B. and Edna R. (Sprecher) Charlton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Lee W. Kallmyer in 1987, as well as her brother, Albert C. Charlton, and two sisters, Shirley J. Plotner and Virginia Ebersole.
Elaine worked for Hagerstown Trust Co. and was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxillary, Women of the Moose #342, Williamsport Country Club and the Hagerstown Garden Club.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Thomas W. Roane, of Hagerstown, her daughter, Jennifer J. Silverman, and her husband, Bob, of Silver Spring, MD, step daughter Debra Roane of Bethesda, MD, grandchildren Adam Silverman, and wife Lauren, of Gaithersburg, MD, Alan Silverman of Bethesda, MD, and Aaron Silverman of Florida, as well as two great grandchildren Harper and Hudson, both of Gaithersburg, and her sisters Bertha Thomas and Patricia Harbaugh, and her husband, Bud, all of Hagerstown, MD. Also survived by nieces, nephews and their spouses, and close family friends Joann Riley and Dottie Harris.
Relatives and friends are invited to Harman Funeral Home, 305 N. Potomac Street, Hagerstown, on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 for visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, at which time a funeral service will be held. Rev. Mike Simane will officiate. Interment to immediately follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Elaine’s memory may be directed to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
