Ernest James Roberson, 76, was called home to glory on August 2, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.  He was born on January 18, 1938 in Birmingham, AL to the late Thomas Raymond Roberson, Sr., and Emma Roberson.  Ernest graduated from Parker High School in Birmingham, AL and furthered his education at Daniel Payne Technical College.  Ernest then went on to serve his country in the United States Army for five years and was honorably discharged. He was later employed with E.S. Adkins and Bayshore Foods in Hurlock, MD. He retired from Solo Cup Company in Federalsburg, MD.  When he wasn't working, he could be found trying to reel in a "big one", playing softball or singing hymns with the male chorus.  He was an avid sports fan and could be found cheering on the Orioles or his beloved "Redskins".   Ernest was a man of God and faithfully served his church in many capacities. He was a former member of Hurlock U.M. Church. Later, he joined Preston Circuit A.M.E Church, where he served as a trustee, steward, member of the finance committee and usher board, Sons of Allen, member of the Male Choir and church custodian. Ernest leaves to mourn his passing and cherish beloved memories, his wife, Valena; two daughters, Tron Dennis (Clifton) and Paulette Jenkins;  four grandchildren, Mychelle Graham, Monica Jenkins, Markus Jenkins and C'Sara Dennis; a great-grandson, Xavier Jenkins; father-in-law, Luther L. Fletcher; siblings: Brenda Bryant, Jeffery Roberson, Robert Roberson, Emma Roberson, William Roberson, Josephine Roberson and Dorothy Roberson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ernest was preceded in death by three brothers, Lesley Roberson, George Roberson and Thomas Roberson.
