Francis Chris Pasquinelli

CAPTAIN FRANCIS (FRANK) C PASQUINELLI, U.S. Navy (Retired) Captain Pasquinelli is a native of Salem Massachusetts where he attended Salem High School. He then attended Columbia University on a NROTC scholarship and graduated in 1956 with a BA degree in Business Administration. He was commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in the same year. His first tour of duty was onboard the USS HARLAN R. DICKSON (DD-708). He attended Submarine School in 1958 and qualified for submarines on the USS ODAX (55484). Subsequent tours were the USS TRUMPETFISH (SS425), USS GUDGEON (55567), and U55 SEA ROBIN (5S407). He was the Commanding Officer of the USS PICKEREL (55524) from 1969 to 1971. Captain Pasquinelli's shore assignments included tours as Program Director in the Training Management Division of BUPER; Assistant material Officer for Budget on COMSUBLANT Staff; Force Planning Officer for COMSUBPAC and Comptroller for COMSUBPAC His last tour was as the Director of Internal Review at the Naval Sea Systems Command. He was selected as a proven Financial Management Subspecialist in 1976. His educational tours included the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey California where he earned a Master's Degree in Management. He is also a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington D.C He was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and the Meritorious Service medal. He retired from the Navy in 1984. And spent the next 15 years in the private sector with two different companies supporting various government programs - working as a Project Manager for the American System Corp and as the Vice President of Operations for HJ Ford Assoc, Inc. His second retirement was in 2000. He has been married to the former Joanne Sucharski of Ipswich Massachusetts for 63 years. They have three children, Karen Short of Springfield, VA, Chris Pasquinelli of Fort Washington, Maryland, and Lisa Peter of Springfield, Va. They also have four grandchildren: Dylan, Karlie, and Lauren Peters of Springfield, VA and Amanda Short of Springfield, Va. Relatives and friends are invited to Francis' Life Celebration at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Road, Oxon Hill, MD on Saturday, December 19, 2020 from 12 noon until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Interment Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting you make monetary donation to the Alzheimer's Association (https://act.alz.org). All attendees are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Up to 50 persons or less are allowed in the building at one time. Please keep your visit very brief so others may have opportunity to pay their respects to the family.
