Erma Moore Reisterstown, Maryland Obituary

Erma Moore

Erma “Jean” Moore passed away on September 17, 2017 at Seasons Hospice in Randallstown. Born on September 15, 1930 in Washington County Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Fannie Bowman. She was the wife of the late Bruce C. Moore, Sr. We wanted to share a little about our Mom’s life with you. She was an amazing woman in every way. She was born in Tennessee, the youngest of 12 children, to a very poor family. Her father was a traveling musician and rarely home. She often talked about her mother and how hard her life was. My grandmother raised chickens for money and grew all their food. They had no electricity, no indoor plumbing and no heat except for the cook stove. Can you imagine living that type of life? You would think someone born into that life would be bitter and look at the world from a negative point of view, but it was the exact opposite. Our mother exuded a very positive attitude and encouraged us to do the same. She taught us, by example, that everyone deserved respect, kindness and to not judge anyone, ever. I have never met a person who has described her in any way other than being one of the kindest people they have ever met. Her smile was contagious and family was everything. She truly represents an example of how all of our lives should be lived. And from all the testimonials we’ve seen, she has had a similar impact on any life that she touched. She was admired for her work ethic, her honesty, and her ability to make friends wherever she was. She had the ultimate gift of gab, which sometimes drove us crazy. She was an incredible wife, mother, and loved being a grandmother more than anything. We were so happy that she got to enjoy Colton and Jameson, her great grandchildren, while she lived with Cindi and Hank. They brought a smile to her face everyday and Colton would make her laugh out loud. We will miss her beautiful face, her smile, her kindness and gentle touch, her honesty, her good advice and her support, no matter what. Hoping that her next chapter is full of light and love, pain free, worry free and that she has plenty of people to talk to. She is survived by her children Bruce C. Moore, Jr. and his wife Jayne, Cindy Marie Meyers and her husband Hank, grandchildren Angela Jean Moore, Corey Scott Plotkin and great-grandchildren Colton Remmers and Jameson Remmers. She is pre-deceased by one grandchild Bradley Adam Plotkin. Family will receive friends at the Eline Funeral Home 11824 Reisterstown Rd (@ Franklin Blvd.) on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 3-5 & 7-9pm. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nikki Perlow Foundation www.nikkiperlowfoundation.org or Baltimore Humane Society 1601 Nicodemus Rd, Reisterstown, MD 21136.
