Mildred Portia Marie Bryant Salisbury, Maryland Obituary

Mildred Portia Marie Bryant

Mildred Portia Marie Bryant, daughter of the late Sylvia Blake, was born on March 31, 1944. She transitioned to her heavenly home on September 15, 2020 in the comfort of her home. Mildred worked at Chesapeake Bay Plywood and retired from McDonald's, both in Pocomoke, Maryland. She loved cooking and taking care of her grandchildren, until her health began to fail. She would always call on her nurses Shanay, Dashawn and Eric to come and care for her in times of distress. As she spent some of her final days at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland, she would ask that her granddaughter Shameka and cousin Marvin come to see her. Memories of Mildred (Mom-Mom) will be cherished: by two children Douglas Matthews (Sylvia) and Lovie Ballard, both of Pocomoke City, Maryland; thirteen (13) grandchildren, Devery, Anya (William), Damien, AJ (Tameka), Ryan, Douglas, Ebonie, Eric, Shameka (Chavanne), Erica, Shanay, Dashawn and Dajour. She had a special son-in-law Alphonso Byrd, Sr., who took care of her until her death. She also had a host of great-grandchildren everywhere and she would be quick to tell them they needed to “get somewhere and sit it down now.” In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Patricia, Carmean, and Clara and also her best friend, Hilda Conner whom she loved dearly.
