Gladys Irene Schrider (nee Grimes), 91 of Berkeley Springs, WV passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017. She was born August 20, 1926 in Frederick, MD the daughter of the late Francis Elmer Grimes and the late Hazel Sylvia Grimes (nee Haugh). The loving wife of Ernest Andrew Schrider for 71 years. Gladys graduated from Sykesville High School in 1943 and took a year of nursing training. She worked as an employee at Leggett’s (Belk) of Westminster for 16 years before retiring in 1987. Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughter Elaine Susan and husband Charlie W. Spertzel and daughter-in-law Suzanne Schrider. Also survived by her grandchildren Heather Gene Spahr and Charles Nathan Spertzel, and two great-granddaughters Dakota Renae Spahr and Raelyn Harmony Spahr. She was preceded in death by her brother James Grimes and Her son Dana Phillip Schrider. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 12-1 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 W. Old Liberty Road Winfield, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). At which time the funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. Interment to follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
