Obituary for Alice L. L. McNeill

Alice L. (Degan) McNeill, 92, wife of the late Louis P. McNeill, died Friday July 1, 2016 at her residence. She was born and raised in Lowell to the late William and Marion (Underwood) Degan.
Mrs. McNeill worked as an assembler for Parker Brothers but spent the majority of her life lovingly raising her children and caring for her grandchildren. She was a resident of Beverly for nearly 60 years and was a communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea in Beverly. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed Bingo, bowling and her trips with her close friends and beloved sister-in-law Sis Skakum.
Surviving her are five sons, Stephen P. McNeill and his fiance Mary McIntire of Salem, Kevin L. McNeill and his wife Penny of Danvers, William F. McNeill of Beverly, James P. McNeill and his wife Kristin of Reading and Michael J. McNeill and his companion Virginia Shea of Beverly; two daughters, Kathleen E. O’Keefe and her husband Michael of Danvers and Nancy Raymond and her husband Richard of Beverly; a brother Richard Degan of Lowell; a sister, Patricia Rappaza of Lowell; Twelve grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a large extended family. She was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. Burial in the St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to Beverly School for the Deaf 6 Echo Ave, Beverly, MA 01915 or online at .
