Ann Marie Barry, 85, beloved wife of George E. Barry, with whom she shared 48 years of marriage, passed away surrounded by her family at NSMC Salem Hospital. Born in Boston, she is the daughter of the late John and Anastacia (Sullivan) Traverse.
Ann Marie grew up in Dorchester and was a graduate of Boston Girls High School. For many years, Ann Marie was employed at the Knot Sheehan Company in Wakefield. She was an active volunteer at the Beverly Senior Citizens Center and a devoted wife and mother. She will truly be missed.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son: Phil Barry of Beverly; one brother: Clarence Traverse of Saugus; and one sister: Marguerite Hendrix of Winston-Salem, NC. She is predeceased by her two brothers: John Traverse and Edward Traverse.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street Beverly on Friday at 11:00A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location) on Thursday from 4 to 7P.M.. Burial will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly. Memorial Donations may be made in Ann Marie’s Memory to Saint Vincent de Paul Society, 11 Market Sq., Lynn, MA 01905 .
