Audrey Anita Hahn, 61, passed away on Friday November 11, 2016 at the CareOne at Essex Park nursing home in Beverly, MA following a three-year battle with brain cancer.
Audrey was born in Chelsea, MA September 20, 1955. She grew up in Salem, MA where she resided until 1999 when she moved to West Gloucester, MA. Her schooling included graduations with honors from: Salem High School - 1973, Vesper George School Of Art - 1976, Endicott College, Beverly MA - 1995, Salem State University - 1996 and American Career Institute - 2012.
A brilliant visual artist and multi-talented musician, Audrey had a forty year career in professional music and graphic design. Drummer, singer and rhythm guitarist, Audrey co-founded the well-known rock bands Audrey's Kitchen Band, The Notions and The Psychedelic Relics. She was married in 1993 to her lead guitarist Ross Hahn at the First Congregational Church in Rockport, MA.
In addition to being an ardent Red Sox and Bruins fan, Audrey was an avid fisherman who frequently traveled to Marathon in the Florida Keys on fishing trips. She also enjoyed camping, kayaking and skiing. In High School she traveled with her ski club to Interlaken in central Switzerland.
She is survived by her husband, Ross Hahn, father, Richard Buchanan, mother, Ruth Buchanan and brothers, David Buchanan, Richard Buchanan and Michael Buchanan, sister, Nadine Solano, niece, Alicia and nephew, Ryan.
As per her request, some of Audrey's ashes will be scattered at sea both in Gloucester harbor and off the coast of Marathon, FL at her favorite fishing sites. The remaining will be interred at the Hahn family site at Whitemarsh Memorial Park in Ambler, PA.
