Obituary for Barbara A. Nellson

Salem - Barbara A. (Hoey) Nellson 86, beloved wife of the late Robert R. Nellson, died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the John Bertram House in Salem.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Clifton G. and Clara (Alger) Hoey. She was raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School.
A longtime resident of Peabody prior to moving to Salem two years ago, Mrs. Nellson dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving her are three sons: Richard L. Nellson and his fiancé, Sherri of Conway, NH, Donald R. Nellson of Salem, and Thomas C. Nellson and his wife Margaret of Wilmington; two daughters: Jeanne McManus and her husband Phil of Lynn, and Barbara Sciarappa and her husband Steve of FL; fourteen grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, a daughter-in-law: Sun Nellson of VA, two brothers, Richard Hoey of Andover and Clifton Hoey and his wife, Margaret of South Yarmouth.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, West Peabody. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Disabled American Veterans, JFK Federal Building, Room 1575B, 15 New Sudbury St., Boston, MA 02203.
