Obituary for Beatrice L. Silva

Beverly – Mrs. Beatrice L. (Robinson) Silva 66, died Monday, May 30, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family.
Born in Tampa, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Olympia (Del Fuoco) Robinson. She was raised in Lynn and Hamilton and received her education in the Hamilton school system.
Mrs. Silva had been employed for over twenty years as a Matron for the Beverly Police Department until the time of her retirement. Prior to that she had worked for eighteen years as a crossing guard for the City of Beverly. Beatrice had also recently worked at the Girdler House in Beverly for a few years. She loved caring for the residents there and would do shopping for them and on Christmas, she would make them each stockings and stuff them and on Easter would give them baskets and fill them. She enjoyed cooking and decorating during the holidays for the local residents. She was a loving companion, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving companion of over thirty five years, Francis Wickers of Beverly, four daughters, Sheila Silva of Sunderland, MA, Robin Janiak and her husband, Joseph of New Bedford, Dawn Silva of Beverly and Amy Fowler and her husband, Bret of Beverly, five grandchildren, Courtney Silva, Jacob Fowler, Steven, Joshua and Rachel Wickers, one great granddaughter, Annabella Wickers, two sisters, Mary Stratos and Donna Wendt, five brothers, Richard, Paul, Peter, Melvin and Bryant Robinson, several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot Street, Beverly, Saturday, June 4, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to meet family at church. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Beatrice’s memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
