Bertha (Sharis) Petrosino, age 91, wife of the late Salvatore Petrosino, died on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Essex Park Rehabilitation in Beverly. Born in Boston, she was daughter of the late George and Maria (Andrews) Sharis. She has resided in Beverly for over 60 years.
Mrs. Petrosino worked as a seamstress, and made jackets for service men during World War II. She enjoyed walks, knitting, crossword puzzles, and competitive Contact Bridge games.
Surviving her are her children, Michael Petrosino and his wife Susan of Danvers, Peter Petrosino and his wife Savan of New Hampshire, and Marie Freeman of Groveland; her sisters, Olga Dallas of Florida, Ethel Parelli of Dedham, and Nellie Salza of Chicago; her grandchildren, Jennifer Pfifferling, and Tara Petrosino, Alan Petrosino, Jody Green, and Jasmin Petrosino; her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Andrew and Jackson Pfifferling; and many nieces and nephews. She was also sister of the late Peter, Daniel, and Nicholas Sharis, Stella Gunivan and Joan Mulaney.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location) on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
