Catherine L. (Delpero) LeBrun, of Beverly, died at the Salem Hospital following a sudden illness, she was 91. Born and raised in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Batista and Maria (Cornetti) Delpero and beloved wife of the late Alfred J. LeBrun.
Catherine was an active, independent women and a hard worker. She operated her own catering company in Beverly, serving many local families at weddings, parties and other events. As an active member of the Franco-American Club and Senior Center in Beverly she enjoyed playing Bingo. She enjoyed singing, dancing and holiday gatherings, but above all enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and family.
She is survived by her son Timothy J. Hallinan and his wife Barbara, daughters Joyce M. Center and her late husband William, Susan M. Gillis and her husband Joseph all of Beverly; her seven grandchildren: Kim Cross, David Kidney, Lisa McGoldrick, Joseph Gillis, Timothy Hallinan, Christopher Hallinan and Scott Gillis and twelve great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Lillian Delpero of California and Nancy Deplero of Florida and many nieces and nephews. Sister of the late Joseph “Mundo”, Ernie, Michael, John, Batista “Buddy” Delpero, Stephanie Villa, Regina Hallinan, Lena Gray and Phylis Delpero.
A funeral mass will be celebrated, Wednesday March 14th, in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly location on Tuesday from 4PM-7PM. Services will conclude with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers donations in Catherine’s name can be made to the American Stroke Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
