Obituary for Christopher B. Rumpf

Somerville – Mr. Christopher Brett Rumpf 54, formerly of Manchester-by-the-Sea, beloved husband of Annette T. (Trenga) Rumpf, died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
Born in Boston, he was the son of Catherine (Cameron) Rumpf of Essex and the late Robert-Michel Rumpf. He was raised and educated in Manchester-by-the-Sea and graduated from Manchester High School, class of 1975. He continued his education, earning a Bachelor’s degree from Framingham State College and a Master’s degree from Salem State College.
Mr. Rumpf had been employed for seventeen years as a Mental Health Councelor at Riverside Community Care in Wakefield, MA.
A resident of the City of Somerville for the past seventeen years, Christopher Brett was an avid Red Sox fan. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, son-in-law and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared seventeen years of marriage and his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Katie and Christina Rumpf and two sons, Matthew and James Rumpf all of Somerville, a sister, Caitlin Rumpf of Essex, two brothers, Eric Rumpf and Pierre Rumpf both of Manchester-by-the-Sea and his mother-in-law, Maria Teresa Trenga of Somerville.
His funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 20 School Street, Manchester, MA, Monday, June 6, 2011 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visiting hours will be held at the church prior to the service on Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Christopher Brett’s memory to ALS Association, Massachusetts Chapter, 320 Norwood Park S., 2nd Fl., Norwood, MA 02062.
