Obituary for Dolores M. Barcellona

Mrs. Dolores M. Barcellona, 89 years, beloved wife of the late Charles A. Fernandez and Sam Barcellona, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Tampa, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Juan F. and Augusta Elizabeth (Paul) Pedrero. She graduated from Plant High School in FL and went to business school for bookkeeping.
For many years, Dolores had been employed as a bookkeeper for the Morgan Cigar Company and later the Florida Steel Corporation.
Twenty two years ago, she moved to Beverly to live with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. In all that time, she remained a fervent Yankee fan. Dolores enjoyed visiting friends and family in Florida during the winter season. Dining out, socializing and shopping always made her happy.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Berg, her son-in-law, Richard who was like a son to her, three grandchildren, Maria Berg, Jeffrey Berg and Amanda Adler Berg, a great grandson, Jacob Adler Berg, born on December 2, 2011. Dolores is also survived by her brother, John Pedrero and his wife, Pauline of Tampa, FL, her nephew, John C. Pedrero and his wife, Kathy, great nephews, Jacob Pedrero and Donovan Pedrero. Dolores made many wonderful friends in the North Shore area, particularly Paula McCarthy who always lifted her spirits.
A funeral service will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) Friday, January 6. 2012 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery Beverly. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Dolores’ memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923 or the charity of one’s choice.
