Obituary for Dorothea Ellen Crofts

Dorothea E. (Lynn) Crofts died peacefully on April 22, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was born October 13, 1926 to Walter P. and Bessie K. (Williams) Lynn.
Dottie was the beloved wife of the late Laurence P. Crofts whom she married in 1943, and the mother of Laurence P. and his wife Kimberlee, Elaine F., Judith A. all of Beverly and Sally C. and her husband Wayne Plummer of Hiram, ME. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Justin and his wife Daksayana, Jared, Andrew, Nicholas, Jeffrey and his wife Julie, Alexandria and Samantha as well as great grandchildren; Robert, Michael, Isla and Lennox.
Dorothea graduated from the Salem Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 and built her career as a nurse. She remained in nursing until her retirement. She best loved her husband and family, enjoying traveling and family events with gusto, gardening, sewing and knitting for her family were her favorite pastimes. She was a good friend and neighbor and beloved by all who knew her. She had the best laugh, and could be counted on for her calm steady demeanor.
Her funeral service will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 4 Ocean St., Beverly, MA on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 10:00 am. Burial will be immediately after in Central Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA.
