Emile J. DuLong, 93, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12th at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born November 3, 1920, he is the son of the late John Toussaint and Louise (Muise) DuLong.
Emile was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, having served during World War II. He spent most of his deployment in the Pacific in the early break of the war and on all of the islands. Emile was a member of the Vittori-Rocci Post 56 of Beverly, the Italian Community Center of Beverly and the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Lynn.
Emile leaves behind his children: Phillip DuLong and his wife Kim of Methuen and Joy Thornton and her husband Jason of Groveland, FL; two brothers: Nathan DuLong of Lynn and Henry DuLong and his wife Joan of Lynn; five grandchildren: Jennell and Renae Thornton of Groveland, FL, Jason DuLong of Westly Chapel, FL, Steven and Angela DuLong of Baytown, TX; two great grandchildren: Jene Fontenot and Kelcee Compton. He is predeceased by his beloved and devoted companion Helen “Gypsy” Costello; former wife Anna Mae DuLong, his son: Donald DuLong; and his siblings: William and Robert DuLong, Frances Cuthbert, Edith Lapointe, Laura Rossi, Barbara McLean, Mary Parsons, Pauline LeMur and Frances Amarult.
