Ernest Philbrook, passed away Monday April 30th at home in the company of his family, he was 74. Born in Amherst, NH he was the son of the late Ernest and Rubie (Jordan) Philbrook. Ernest grew up in Essex and was a graduate of Gloucester High School. He was the husband of Linda (Waggoner) Philbrook and together they were married over 40 years. As “a real man of the soil”, Ernest enjoyed gardening and worked as an estate keeper for several area mansions, including the King Estate in Manchester and the Nightingale Estate of Beverly Farms. He also enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing, watching baseball and little league games and was fortunate enough to enjoy traveling with his family to California, England, Scotland and Ireland.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his sons: Everett Philbrook of Salem, Michael Philbrook and his wife Stacey of Danvers and Timothy Philbrook of Beverly; his daughter: Cheryl Philbrook of Salem; his grandchildren: Michael Philbrook, Jr. and Emma Philbrook; and his sister: Priscilla Harris of Boxford.
