Obituary for Evalina M. Booth

SARASOTA, FL - Evalina M. (Rogers) Booth of Sarasota, FL And Great Hill, Topsfield, MA passed away on Wednesday, May 16th at the age of 95. She was the wife of the late Harold C. Booth with whom she shared 72 years of marriage. She was born in Beverly, MA September 12, 1916 to William and Jean Rogers. In later years she and her husband lived at Prides Crossing, MA and Moultonboro, NH. In 1990 they became residents of Florida living on Siesta Key Sarasota FL. Mrs. Booth was a past Worthy Matron of Dianna Chapter of Eastern Star in Beverly, MA. She took up golf at the age of 50 and played well into her 80’s. She and her husband were longtime members of Bald Peak Colony Club, Melvin Village, NH and The Oaks, Laurel Oaks and Sunrise Country Clubs in Sarasota as well as the Sarasota Yacht Club. Evvie, as she was called by family and friends, was an avid knitter. She kept her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren well supplied with her beautiful work.

She is survived by her sons, Richard H. Booth and his wife Ann of Topsfield, MA; Dr. Donald F. Booth and his wife Susan of York, ME; a daughter in law, Barbara K. Booth of Topsfield, MA; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey R. Booth and his wife Dorothy of Beverly, MA; Cheryl B. Willmonton and husband Guy of Rowley, MA; Stephen C. Booth and his wife Myong Suk of Leesburg, VA; David K. Booth and his wife Lisa of Hopkinton, NH; Donna K. Booth and her husband Robert Byrnes of Portsmouth, NH; Margaret Flowers and her husband Timothy of Epping, NH and Christopher D. Booth of Gorham, NH; and 17 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Roger G. Booth and a great grandson, Jake Booth Devins.

Memorial visiting hours will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) on Wednesday, May 23 from 4 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be private at the request of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to your local chapter of the Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
