Obituary for Evangeline M. Blood

Beverly - Evangeline Marie (Richard/ Bourque) Blood, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2015 at Essex Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in her 99th year. Evangeline was born in Gardner, MA January 8, 1916, the youngest child of the late John and Eugenie Richard. A charter member of St. Alphonsus parish until it's closing, she graduated from Beverly High School in the class of 1933. She retired from Sylvania of Danvers. She loved to play cribbage, knit, and was proud of the fact that she made over 750 "Irish knit" sweaters. Retirement allowed travel, which she loved, driving cross-country 17 times.
"Vangie", which she liked to be called, is survived by 2 daughters, Marjorie Williams of Seymour, TN, and Nancy Bourque of Beverly; 7 grandchildren, Susan (John) Casey, Ellen (Harold) McCarter, Karen (Jay) McLucus, all of TN, Michael (Alice) Williams, and Brian (Clare) Williams, both of Beverly; Robert Fuchs Jr, and Dana (Brian) Hendershot, both from Ohio; 16 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Stepson Jim (Elaine) Blood and family of Andover, and step granddaughters Sarah Jones, and Leah (Kwadwo) Kwaa families; several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friend and companion, Henry Tache' of Salem.
She was also the wife of the late Theodore J Bourque and the late Andrew Blood and predeceased by a son, Richard (Belly) Bourque and his wife, Mary; son-in-law, Robert Williams; grandson, Robert Williams Jr.; 4 sisters, Anna (Hector) Gastonguay, Alice (William) O'Brien, Albina (O.I.) Emerson, Yvonne (Sylvester) White; 2 brothers, Joseph Albert Richard, and Alfred Richard; several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, Monday, September 14, 2015 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in North Beverly Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Essex Park activity fund, 265 Essex St, Beverly, MA 01915 or the charity of your choice.
