Obituary for Frank D Raffa

Frank Dominic Raffa, Jr., 33, of Beverly, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 26, 2016. Born in Beverly on October 11, 1982, Frank was the son of Frank D., Sr., and Karen (Kelly) Raffa. He was a graduate of the Beverly High School Class of 2001, where he played for the Beverly Panthers Hockey team for four years.

Frank was the proud father of 3-year old Dominic Demar Raffa, of Shelton, Washington, with whom he shared “the best week of his life” recently, bringing him to school, playing, and just being a Dad.

An avid ping pong player who loved playing every Tuesday night in the Raffa garage “with the guys”, Frank also loved hockey, was a very good golfer, and a careful and skilled craftsman. He worked in the family business, Raffa Construction Company, of Beverly Farms, and loved to build furniture pieces in his spare time. He made all the headboards for his family’s vacation home in New Hampshire, and made beautiful coffee tables. Frank’s Mother, Karen, will always cherish the cribbage boards he handcrafted. His sister, Kelly (Raffa) Carvalho’s cribbage coffee table was a loving Christmas gift.

He would have taken over the family business in time because of his talent and personable nature. Frank was great with customers and went out of his way to connect with everyone he touched. Frank had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by so very many.

In addition to his Mother and Father, he is survived by his sister, Kelly (Raffa) Carvalho, her husband, Ryan, their children, Reese, 11, and Rory, 10, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by Dominic’s Mother, Candice Holtz, her parents Demar and Kimberly, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Margaret’s Church, 672 Hale Street, Beverly Farms, on Friday at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Thursday from 4 to 8 P.M. Burial will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
