Obituary for George W. Bertucci

George W. Bertucci, 86, husband of the late June (Williams) Bertucci, passed away Monday, March 30,2015,at Beverly Hospital.

Born and a life long resident Beverly, the son of George J. and Margaret (McManus) Bertucci, he was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1946. Mr. Bertucci served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Gearing until 1953. George was employed for many years as a purchasing manager for BLH Electronics in Waltham, MA and Gould Modicon in Andover, MA until his retirement.

For many years George coached Beverly little league and coached in the youth basketball leagues. George was a dedicated member of the Italian Community Center, Herman A. Spear Post 331, American Legion and the Vittori -Rocci Post 56 where he was involved in the Post’s many functions and also at the Veteran’s Hospital in Bedford.

George enjoyed bowling in the Clan-Wallace Bowling league for over 60 years. In addition, George loved to golf and loved spending time with family and friends. Those who were lucky enough to know George knew what a kind and giving person he was throughout his life.

George is survived by four children, Stephen Bertucci and his wife Denise of Pembroke Pines, Florida, Brad Bertucci and his wife Sheila of Coral Springs, Florida, Janet Thompson and her husband Bruce of Beverly, Ellen McGillicuddy and her husband James of Georgetown, MA; and one sister, Jean Miller of Wabash Indiana; his companion Joan Vallone of Beverly; seven grandchildren, Leanne DeTerra and her husband Neil, Brian Thompson and Melissa Ferris and her husband Scott, Sarah and James McGillicuddy, Michelle and Lauren Bertucci; and five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Saturday, April 4, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday, April 3, from 4 -7 PM. Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Beverly. Information, directions, condolences at www. campbellfuneral. com,
