Obituary for George Costa

Mr. George Costa 82, died Monday morning, September 19, 2011 at the Beverly Hospital.
Born, raised and educated in Taunton, MA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Rogers) Costa.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Costa had been employed for many years as the assistant budget director at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston until the time of his retirement.
A resident of the city of Beverly for the past nineteen years, George endured several illnesses over the years including a courageous battle with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all who knew him.
George’s family wish to extend their love and gratitude to the many caretakers who assisted in George’s care over the years.
He is survived by a daughter, Nancy Hall and her husband, John of Beverly, two sons, David J. Costa of Buckhannon,WV and Brian G. Costa and his wife, Evelyn of Aloha, OR, five grandchildren, Lindsay and Cindi Costa, John S. Hall III, Meredith C. Houseworth, Tyler Hall and Mallory Hall and Briana Costa and a great grandchild, Sawyer Houseworth. He was also the father of the late Robert D. Costa and brother of the late Joseph and Francis Costa.
His memorial service will be held at the Second Congregational Church, 35 Conant St., Beverly, Thursday at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in George’s memory to GBS (Guillain-Barre Syndrome )/CIDP Foundation International, 104 ½ Forrest St., Narberth, PA 19072.
