Obituary for George F. Wildes

– George F. Wildes, Jr., loving father, grandfather, son, and brother, age 56 years, passed away with his family by his side on Monday, January 24, 2011, after a three-year battle with cancer. Born in Beverly, he was the son of June (Drown) Wildes and the late George F Wildes.

Mr. Wildes was a graduate of Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School and then Wentworth Institute. George (Mr. Wonderful) was most passionate about his work as Head Custodian at the Cutler Elementary School in Hamilton. He also worked for Raytheon for 12 years in Andover and C.F. Tompkins Furniture Co. for over 15 years, and loved fishing and bowling.

In addition to his mother, George is survived by his daughters, Nic of Lawrence and Becky of North Andover; his brothers, Stephen Wildes of Salem, William Wildes and his wife Chris of Wenham, and Dan Wildes and his wife Chris of Rowley; his sisters, Jane Parsons and her husband Robert of Rochester, New Hampshire, and Penny Hawkes and her husband Greg of Beverly; his grandson Gabriel of North Andover; and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Peter Wildes.

Funeral Services will be held at the First Church in Wenham on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location) on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be held privately for the family.
