Obituary for Harry Alzirus Powers

Beverly - Harry A. Powers, 86, beloved husband of Beverly, devoted father to daughters Alison, Ellen, and son Jeffrey, who predeceased him, and loving papa to granddaughter Sarah (Patrie), peacefully passed away with his family by his side, on Monday, March 28, at The Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Danvers and a long-time resident of Beverly, he retired from Raytheon after 33 years. For over 50 years he was a loyal and dedicated Mason, a longtime member of The First Baptist Church of Beverly, a life member of Jubilee Yacht Club, and a faithful friend to all who knew him.
Appreciator of all Natural Wonders, a sailor, skier, camper, and world traveler, he loved his country. Problem solver extraordinaire, he could fix and build anything, and never turned down a challenge or adventure. He had great love, joy and pride in his family, who always came first.
Predeceased by his brother Albert, he leaves behind Ab’s wife Marge, his brother Whitney and wife Mimi, many nieces and nephews, his Masonic Brothers, and many dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 221 Cabot Street, Beverly on Saturday, April 9, at 3:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
