James J. (Jimmy) Duffy Jr., age 82, of Topsfield, passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers on November 1, 2016. He was the husband of Sandra A. (Dawson) Duffy. Jimmy was born and raised in Beverly, MA. He was the son of the late James J. and Phyllis (Stokes) Duffy Sr.
He graduated from Beverly High School, where he met his loving wife Sandra. Jimmy loved sports, especially basketball and football, and it was football that took him to college at the University of Maine at Orono. He was Captain of the UMO football team his senior year and was inducted into the Beverly HS Hall of Fame in 2007.
In 1967, Jimmy and his dear friend Donald Stebbins launched their own HVAC Rep Company, Stebbins Duffy Inc. Jimmy was very devoted to the company, and that devotion found him great success. When Jimmy took time off, he enjoyed boating, Salem Country Club and travel with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of 64 years he is survived by, his daughter Karen Munroe and husband Joe of Raleigh, NC, his son Michael and wife Kyra of Knoxville, TN, his daughter Tricia Koniares and husband Harry of Georgetown, his son John of Topsfield and grandson Jonathan.
Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St, Beverly, Ma 01915. The family will have a celebration of life that will be held at a later date.
