Joel E. Ballentine, 56, beloved husband of Suzanne (Doyle) Ballentine, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 5th. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Joel W. Jr. and Carolyn (Burnham) Ballentine.
Joel grew up in Beverly and attended Beverly Schools. Although Joel was a resident of North Beverly, his wife Sue made him an honorary Ryal Sider. Joel had an extensive network of close friends, was an accomplished drummer, a great cartoonist and had a contagious laugh to go along with his devilish sense of humor. He was also a friend of Bill W. for many years. He was a kind man that adored his wife, children and grandson like no other. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his devoted wife of 25 years, he is survived by his three loving children: Rebecca Ballentine, Kristin Ballentine and Michael Ballentine all of Beverly; brother David Ballentine of Putney, VT; sister Judy Brown and her husband Jason of Beverly; grandson Noah Michael Wilkerson of Beverly; a niece Sage Ballentine of Putney, VT; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his sister Barbara Melanson.
A Celebration of Joel’s Life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements by the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly. Memorial Donations may be made in Joel’s Memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
