Leo V. Ring, 92, husband of the late Margaret L. (Ryan) Ring, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Cedar Glen Rehabilitation and Care Center in Danvers. Born in Salem, he is the son of the late Michael and Alice (Carr) Ring.
Leo grew up in Salem and lived there most of his life until 1950 when he moved to Beverly. Leo was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a prisoner of war in Germany and wounded in action. For 25 years, Leo was a U.S. postal carrier in Salem. He was an avid golfer and also loved to read.
Surviving him is two sons: Michael L. Ring and his wife Olga of Jacksonville, FL, and Philip J. Ring and his wife Page of Beverly; one daughter: Beth A. Marshall and her husband David of Salem; six grandchildren: Jennifer Cornforth and her husband Jay of Hamilton, Aaron Ring of Panama, Thomas Sarasqueta of Panama, Marilyn Hunt of Jacksonville, FL, Sean M. Ring and his wife Jamie of Watertown, and Kelly Ring Stapleton and her husband Jim of Beverly; five great grandchildren: Sheamus and Liam Stapleton and Jack, Peter and Julia Cornforth. He is predeceased by his son: Larry W. Ring and his sister Marie Whitmore.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch Street Beverly on Thursday at 11:00A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location) on Wednesday from 4 to 7 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
