Obituary for Mary Heffernan

–Mrs. Mary (D’Ettore) Heffernan 90, beloved wife of the late Alvin J. Heffernan, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at home.
Born in Wenham, she was the daughter of the late Luigi and Natalina (Marcatulio) D’Ettore. She was raised and educated in Beverly. After marring her husband, during his enlistment, they lived in San Francisco, California and San Antonio, Texas
Mrs. Heffernan had been employed for many years at Hotwatt in Danvers until the time of her retirement. A long time resident of Beverly, Mary was an avid gardener and traveler. She enjoyed summering with her family at their home at Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire. Dancing was her life long passion. She was a former member of the Hamilton Wenham Couples Club. Mary was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving her are two sons: Dennis J. Heffernan and his wife, Nancy of Salem and Daniel S. Heffernan of Hamilton, four grandchildren, Brett Heffernan and his wife, Dawn of Rowley, Stacy Heffernan of Danvers, Katharine and Kristin Heffernan of Hamilton, two great grandsons, Andrew and Ethan Heffernan, a brother, Joseph D’Ettore of Beverly and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) on Thursday at 11:00a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary’s memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B102, Danvers, MA 01923.
