Minna S. (Schreiber) Richmond of Topsfield formerly of Milton and Winthrop passed away peacefully on April 24, 2011. Minna graduated from Winthrop High School in 1932, Simmons College class of 1936 and received a Masters of Education from Boston University in 1958. Minna was active with the Girl Scouts of America as a troop leader and member of the Boston Council. She fulfilled her lifetime desire to be a teacher by joining the faculty of Stoughton High School where she became the director of Business Education until retirement in 1980.
She leaves her daughters Donna R. Barnard, MD (Douglas, MD) of Naples, FL and Melvin Village, NH and Ellen Shilkret (Del) of Granby, CT; her grandchildren Deborah Barnard Stachel JD (Dan) of Weston, MA, Douglas Leigh Barnard (Melissa) of Weston, FL, and Lori Shilkret Parson (C. Duncan) of East Longmeadow, MA, and 6 great grandchildren. In addition Minna leaves her brother Henry Schreiber of Maryland and his family. She was predeceased by her husband Lester in 1962 and her parents Alice and Benjamin Schreiber as well as her sister Dorothy.
Services will be private with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Minna S.
