Norma M. (Racioppi) Pino 84, beloved wife of Samuel J. Pino, died Thursday evening, July 31, 2014 at her home surrounded by family.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Augusta (Tassinari) Racioppi. She graduated from St. Chretienne Academy in Salem and earned her Degree from Regis College in Weston and Salem State College.
As a young woman, Mrs. Pino had worked as an elementary school teacher at the former Bentley School in Salem.
A dedicated advocate of United States veterans, Norma was a longtime supporter of the Wounded Warriers and had written many letters which were published in the Salem News’ “Letters to the Editor”.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be clearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband with whom she shared sixty years of marriage, she is survived by a daughter, Lisa Harney and her husband, Timothy of Beverly, four sons, Samuel J. Pino Jr. and his wife, Jeanie of MD, Marc Pino and his wife, Joanna of Beverly, David Pino and his wife, Sarah Luz of LA and Lamphone Pino and his wife, Villa of Peabody and eight grandchildren, Daniel, Eric, Joseph, Jennifer, Andrew, Angela, Monica and Venida.
