Obituary for Nunzio Napoleone

Nunzio Napoleone 66, husband of Barbara (Pinto) Napoleone, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston after a short illness, with his family by his side.
Born in Castiglione a. Casauria, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Lucia (Bucci) Napoleone. He immigrated to the United States at the age of five, settling in Wellesley with his grandparents and brother. He moved to South Hamilton in 1978 where he has since resided.
Nunzio graduated from Northeastern University with a mechanical engineering degree, and compiled a fulfilling professional career at prominent Massachusetts technology companies including Dennison Manufacturing, Wang Laboratories, PictureTel, Ezenia, and Mercury Computer.
A resident of the town of Hamilton for the past thirty-five years, he was actively involved in the Hamilton-Wenham community, having spent many years coaching youth baseball and basketball, volunteering at the Department of Public Works, and participating in various capacities at Hamilton Town Hall.
In his younger years Nunzio loved competing in fast-pitch softball and he always remained an avid local sports fan. Other hobbies he enjoyed include boating, golfing, and pizza-making.
He was a survivor of Leukemia, having been successfully treated at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2001. He was extremely appreciative of the opportunity to continue his life after beating this disease and as such he had asked for his bone marrow to be donated to Dana Farber for ongoing research.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, he was a thoughtful man, extremely devoted to his family and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife with whom he shared thirty-six years of marriage, he is survived by two daughters, Christina Lucia Napoleone of Ipswich and Alissa Napoleone of Boston, a son, Michael Napoleone and his wife, Heather of Wakefield, two granddaughters, Hailey and Taylor Napoleone and a brother, Peter Napoleone and his wife, Donna of Madison, WI.
