Obituary for Patricia W. Hunter

Patricia Walsh Hunter passed away peacefully on December 9, 2011 at Lahey Clinic Burlington, at the age of 82, following a battle with leukemia.
She was born on May 14, 1929 in New York, NY, one of two daughters born to Jesse (Halliday) and Harold A. Walsh. Pat was raised in Jackson Heights, NY. She graduated from Virginia Intermont College in Bristol, VA.
She worked in advertising as an executive secretary with Robert W. Orr in NYC. On January 28, 1956 she married Norman F. Hunter. They raised three children in Greenwich, CT. She worked as an industrial engineering manager for UPS in her 20 year career there. In 1982 they were transferred to Duluth, GA. In 2005 they moved to Middleton to be closer to family.
She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, volunteering and she was an avid reader. She was an alter guild volunteer for many years, most recently at Trinity Episcopal Church, Topsfield. She was a member of the Daughters of the King.
She leaves behind, her husband, Norman, her daughter, Mrs. Jennifer Wightman and son in law, Mr. George Wightman of Boxford, her two sons, Mr. Jonathan Hunter of No. Andover, Mr. Andrew Hunter of Middleton; three grandchildren, Brendan, Alex and Libby Wightman as well as her brother in law, William George. She was predeceased by her sister, Beverly George of Greenport, NY. Pat was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 124 River Rd., Topsfield, MA, on Saturday, December 17 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Lahey Clinic Medical Center, c/o Philanthropy, 41 Mall Rd., Burlington, MA 01805.
