Obituary for Philip J. Burnham

South Hamilton - Philip J. Burnham Jr. 67, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his home.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Philip J. Sr. and Barbara (Dooley) Burnham. He was raised in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton-Wenham High School, class of 1968. Phil continued his education at the Wentworth Institute in Boston where he earned an Associates degree.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the U.S. National Guard.
Mr. Burnham was a self-driven, entrepreneur who was very successful in his endeavors. More recently he worked in the real estate industry, buying and selling home on the Northshore.
A lifelong resident of Hamilton, Mr. Burnham was athletic and had a love for sports. He volunteered as a little league coach for many years in the Town of Hamilton. He also had a love for animals and was often seen walking his dogs through town. He was a loving brother, uncle and friend who enjoyed spending time with his nephews.
Surviving him are two brothers, Tom Burnham and his wife, Alice of Groveland and David Burnham of California, three sisters, Cindy Bundy of Beverly, Lee Thompson and her husband, Dustin of Falmouth and Teresa McShea and her husband, Paul of Salem, five nephews, Nicholas, Noah, Sean, Matthew and Joseph. He was also the brother of the late Virginia and Andrew Burnham.
His funeral Service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Friday, December 23, 2016 at 12:30 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
