Obituary for Richard J. Regan

Mr. Richard Regan passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, August 14, 2014. Born in St Albans, VT, Son of the late Edmond J. Regan and Barbara Moore.
He lived in Vermont, Boston, Washington DC, and Waltham before settling in Beverly where he met the love of his life, R. Frances (Maggiacomo) Regan with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
He enjoyed skiing, bicycling, camping, and traveling with his family and for many years he and Frances skied at Bretton Woods with dear friends, Jan and Jim Callely, where they had many friends, and was a proud member of the Over 70 ski Club. After having a stroke seven years ago, which ended his skiing, he enjoyed travels to Bretton Woods/Twin Mountain and Vero Beach Florida with his wife, and dining out at many local restaurants.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany with the AFN (Armed Forces Network Radio). He was Chief Engineer and announcer at WNBP in Newburyport, MA in the 1950s. He worked at CBS Hytron, RCA, Bolt Beranek and Newman and retired as a Biomedical/Electrical Engineer with Hewlett Packard, in 1989.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons and two daughters, Kevin J (Jo-An Stone), Kenneth P (Laurie), Keith E (Maureen), Kathleen (Richard) Malewicki, Karen Picariello (Jack Hughes), Ten grandchildren, Four great-grand-children, a cousin Jane Mahr of NJ, a dear sister in law, Pauline MacDonald of Reading, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
He was grateful for the care he received from family, friends, and Caregivers, Jean at Senior Care and Betty at Comfort Keepers.
Funeral Services will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Burial in the North Beverly Cemetery.
