Obituary for Robert C Markham



Beverly – Robert C. “bobby” Markham 72, died unexpectedly, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at his home.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Charles W. Jr. and Mildred (Noyes) Markham. In his youth at the age of twelve, he led the Beverly Red Sox to the Little League Baseball Championship in 1955 with a .636 season batting average. He later played for Beverly High School.
He lived is California for a short time where he played semi-professional Hockey in the U.S. and Canada before returning to Beverly in the mid 1970’s.
He continued to maintain the family lifelong residence in the Ryal Side section of Beverly. He became the longtime healthcare giver to his parents, Mildred and Charles.
Mr. Markham worked hard as an independent landscaper and handyman. Mowing lawns, raking leaves and shoveling snow for his many clients, neighbors and friends until recently when his health began to decline.
He is survived by his brother, David Markham and his wife, Deborah of Plymouth, niece, Bethany Campano and her husband, Leigh of Wareham and several cousins and many valued friends and neighbors.
Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 4 -6 p.m. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com.
