Obituary for Walter Michael Miedzionoski

Walter M. Miedzionoski, 84, husband of the late Margaret M. “Peggy” (Pietrini) Miedzionoski, passed away Tuesday, May 1 at Cedar Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers. Walter (affectionately known as Vudic) was born in Salem, he is son of the late John and Sophie (Kozak) Miedzionoski.

Walter grew up and was educated in Salem. He served in the United States Navy during WWII aboard the Cruiser USS Tucson. Walter was employed at the United Shoe Machinery Corporation in Beverly for 36 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. After retirement, he worked for the North Beverly Food Mart and Henry’s Market. Walter was a 50 year member of the Patria e Lavoro Society and member of the Vittori Rocci Post #56. He enjoyed golfing, keeping up his yard and baseball, especially the Boston Red Sox. What made Walter the happiest was his granddaughter’s Jenna and Lauren.

Walter’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Cedar Glen in Danvers for all their wonderful care.

Walter is survived by one son: Paul Miedzionoski and his wife Ann McDonald of Beverly; two grand-daughters: Jenna and Lauren Miedzionoski; one sister: Helen Thibault of North Andover; and beloved grand dog Teddy. He is predeceased by his son Michael Miedzionoski and his siblings: Raymond, Edward and Louis Miedzionoski, Louise Schaill and Olga Page.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly on Monday at 9:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held prior to the mass at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly Location) from 7:30-8:30A.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery Beverly. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Walter’s Memory to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B102, Danvers, MA 01923.
