Beverly - William J. Consone Sr., 101, devoted husband of fifty nine years to his late wife, Margaret R. (O’Nesta) Consone, died Monday, August 11, 2014 at the Blueberry Hill Health Care Center in Beverly.
Born and raised in Beverly, he was the son of the late Diofebo and Rosa (Luberti) Consone. He was a graduate of Beverly High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Consone had been employed for forty years as a leather worker at the A.C. Lawrence Leather Company in Peabody until the time of his retirement.
A lifelong resident of Beverly, he was an avid baseball and football fan. Most of all, Mr. Consone enjoyed spending time with his family, especially listening to his grandson play the guitar. He was a loving father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, William J. Consone Jr. and his wife, Sheila of Beverly and a grandson, Nicholas Consone and his companion, Jess Moody both of Beverly.
Funeral Services will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
