Lancaster-Salomon Alva Pesantes, 90, passed away peacefully at Leominster Hospital on Tuesday, March 19, 2019. He is survived by his lifelong companion, Carmen Sanchez Mejia; their children, Wilson Habacuc Alva Sanchez of Chile; Daniel Luis Alva Sanchez; and Elias Salomon Alva Sanchez, both of Leominster; his brother, Nicolas Alva Pesantes of Peru; his adoring grandchildren, Kevin Alva Gonzales, Nataly Alva Gonzales, and Deyel Miguel Alva Ramos; one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
Salomon was born in Cascas, Peru to the late Moises Alva & Leonidas Pesantes Leon. A man of great integrity and talent, Salomon was a lifelong self-employed shoemaker in Peru before coming to the United States at the age of 86. He was a devoted and adored member of the Clinton Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church. Salomon was passionate for reading, learning history, language, and culture. His outgoing personality and general knowledge of all topics endeared him to making friends wherever he travelled. A Funeral Service will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the Clinton Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church, 250 Church St., Clinton, with burial to follow in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster. A period of visitation will be held in the church prior to services on Wednesday morning from 9:30-10AM.
