Roland Copeland Obituary

Roland Christopher Copeland was born on November 29, 1967 to Maceva Copeland. He was educated in the Boston Public Schools. Roland was a football standout at Dorchester High School during the eighties. “Big Roe” as he was often called by his teammates played left offensive tackle. He remained close with his fellow “Dot High Bears” over the course of his life. His passion for football never left him, later on in life he played left offensive tackle for Billy’s Cowboys and he was the offensive line coach for the Quincy Militia. Roland also enjoyed fishing and cooking. Out of his love for cooking his business “Lil Bit of Smoke” was born. He often sold food at fairs and festivals in the New England area. His business frequently took him to the south where he met other Chefs and entrepreneurs. He leaves to mourn his mother Maceva Copeland, brother Shawn Davis Copeland, and grandmother Claries Copeland. While in high school Roland met Cynthia Skinner and from that union his eldest child and only daughter Christina Copland was born. Christina blessed her dad with two grandchildren Phoenix and Veva. Later on in life he married Willette Copeland, and from that union his two sons Roland Copeland Jr. and Rondell Copeland were born. He leaves a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews to mourn as well. Before his passing Roland decided to rededicate his life to Christ. He was baptized at Holy Tabernacle Church in Randolph, Massachusetts. His family, friends, and teammates will miss him dearly To Zoom click on your loved one obituary and then click on Photos and Videos Scroll down below picture album then click on Watch Webcasting.
