Henry E. Daigle

DRACUT- Henry E. “Hank” Daigle, 89, died Tuesday September 18th, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Henry was born on September 9, 1923 in Dracut, MA. He was the son of the late Eli Daigle and Laura (Plomondon) Daigle. Hank was a decorated veteran, who proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Navy. He participated in many major battles including The Invasions of Sicily and Palermo, The Landing of Normandy, the Battle of Okinawa and many others. He and his brothers were honored by the Town of Dracut for their service to their country with the naming of Daigle Square near their childhood home. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a stone crusher for the Brox Quarry for many years. In his free time Henry loved a wide range of outdoor activities. But his most cherished time was spent with his loving family. He is survived by his eight children, Henry Daigle of Derry NH, Sheila Ouellette and her husband Paul, of Enfield CT., Joseph Daigle, Michael Daigle and his wife Rosie, Laurie Daigle and her husband Bill Jordan, all of Salem NH, Mary Daigle and her husband Scott Leonhart, of Methuen, MA., Susan Maxwell, of Derry NH, and Beatrice Marrero and her husband Julio of West Palm Beach Florida, as well as 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his long-time partner Rita Parent of Dracut MA., and her son Robert Parent of Nashua NH.
