Dorothy (Lambe) George, 91, of Worcester and Auburn died Monday, May 20, 2013 at Beaumont Nursing Home in Northbridge. She is predeceased by her husband John George who died in January 2012 and brother James who died this past January. Mrs. George leaves behind two sons, Tommie and his wife Linda of Northborough and Gary and his wife Michelle of Leicester; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine John of Worcester and Beverly Barrell of Webster. Dorothy was born in Korce, Albania on Feb. 11, 1922 to Angelo and Froska Lambe. She emigrated to the U.S. in 1936.

Dottie worked side by side with her husband at the Spanish Grille Restaurant they owned on Main St. Worcester. Mrs. George was an accomplished cook known for her expertise and ease in the kitchen. They were both familiar faces at the Albanian festivals. Dottie was known to volunteer many hours baking and cooking the specialties served there. She was a member of the Daughter’s of St. Mary’s and the Women’s Guild.

A calling hour will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 from 10-11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury St. Worcester, MA 01609. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Albanian Orthodox Church. The George family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Beaumont for their kindness and care.
