Auburn- Caroline E. (Waligora) Roy, 68, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 26, 2011, in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, after an illness. She is survived by her daughter Jessica Roy, of Canton, her sister Jean Waligora of Northborough, her brother Stanley J. Waligora, Jr., of Bernalillo, NM, and five nephews. Her husband Philip F. Roy passed away in 2000. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY, the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Helen (Mogilska) Waligora. She graduated from Arlington High School of Poughkeepsie, NY; Nazareth College of Rochester, NY; and Syracuse University. Mrs. Roy taught for many years, first at the Belmont Street Community School and later the Burncoat Preparatory School, both in Worcester. She was a member of the Church of Saint Joseph, in Auburn. She loved teaching, and she enjoyed organizing social events with her neighbors and friends. She was also an avid reader who loved the ocean and spending time in nature. She will be missed by all who knew her. Calling hours will be from 3-5 PM Saturday, March 5, at the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn, with private interment at a later time.
