Sturbridge/Southbridge....Alfred A. Morin, age 78, of Sturbridge a former longtime Southbridge resident died Friday at home . His wife of 38yrs. was the late Lorraine (Coutu) Morin who died Nov. 29, 1990. He is survived by 2 sons Michael and his wife Roberta Morin of Harrisonburg, VA, and Neil Morin of N. Brookfield, 4 daughters Elizabeth Mims of Topeka, KS, Melanie and her husband Army Col. Marc Caouette of Honolulu, HI, Catherine and her husband Carl Abissi of Woodstock, and Judith Morin of Charlton, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, and his longtime companion Erline Kennedy of Sturbridge. He also leaves a brother Henri Morin and his wife Ruth, and 2 sisters Jeanne Steppic all of Southbridge, and Alice Langlois of Quinebaug, CT, many nieces and nephews.
Al was born in Southbridge, son of the late Aime and Alice (Picard) Morin and lived here most of his life before moving to Sturbridge. He was a Police Officer for the Town of Southbridge for 31yrs. retiring in 1995, prior to that he was a grinder at A&M Tool & Die Co. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the VFW Post 6055, the American Legion, and the N. E. Council of Skin Divers.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 8:30AM from Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St. Southbridge with a Mass at 10AM at Saint Mary's Church 263 Hamilton St. Southbridge.. Calling hours are Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 4-6PM at the funeral home.
