Southbridge - B. Louise (Senecal) Bonnette of South Street, Southbridge, passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 1 at Webster Manor, with her family at her side. She was born December 15, 1921 at home in Fiskdale. She leaves her loving husband of 63 years, Paul, whom she married November 4, 1946; her children, Lorraine and son-in-law, Jim DaDalt with whom she lived, and son, Paul A. Bonnette; her grandchildren whom she truly adored, Nicholas DaDalt and his wife, Hillary, and Abraham Harraden, and a daughter-in-law, Marylou Bonnette.
She was born an only child of Albert and B. Vertine (Marsell) Senecal. She was fortunate enough to enjoy an extended family with aunts and uncles and friends and neighbors. Louise spent her early life and early married years on South Street, returning to the same home in 2006. She loved to tell everyone how she lived in the oldest house in Southbridge. She took pleasure in spending her summers at Long Pond and later on at Cedar Lake, Sturbridge, where she and Paul eventually settled year round. Growing up she spent many holiday weekends with family and friends at the Cape or in Maine. Her greatest vacations were spent at Old Orchard Beach, Maine, where she travelled up until her recent illness. She was truly the core of her family and loved having everyone over for dinner or summer barbecues. Her family always came first in her life.
She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School in 1940. At that time she worked in the office at the American Optical Company. She later worked at the first Ames Department Store on Mill St. in Southbridge. She retired from Latour Hardware where she was well known being the front end cashier.
Louise loved to cook. She enjoyed spending time outdoors by the lake, flower gardening, and camping in her earlier days. She was always taking up a new craft and made a lot of her own gifts.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at Webster Manor for their care and compassion while she was a resident there.
Louise's funeral will be held Friday, December 4, 2009 from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 12:30 PM at Notre Dame Church, 446 Main St., Southbridge.
