Southbridge...Paul A. Proulx Sr. age 53, of Eastford Road died Thursday Jan. 1, 2009 at UMass Memorial Healthcare Center/University Campus surrounded by his loving family. He leaves the love of his life, his wife Sharon A. (Tremblay) Proulx. They were married August 10, 1981. He leaves 3 sons: James A. Proulx and Matthew Proulx both of Southbridge and Paul A. Proulx Jr. of Thompson, CT, he also leaves his parents Cleo R. and Annette M. (Benoit) Proulx of Southbridge, 2 brothers David Proulx of Brookfield and Ronald Proulx of Leominster, and 6 sisters: Anne Marie Mandeville of Southbridge, Paulette Fontaine of Charlton, Claudette Hardy of Maynard, Michelle Donais of Brookfield, Madeleine Saunders of Southbridge and Monique Kopas of Thompson, CT, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul was born in Southbridge Dec. 26, 1955, and graduated 1975 from the former Marianhill Central Catholic High School in Southbridge, General Motors Automotive Tech Training, and Salter's School for Electronics. Paul was an auto technician working at C & R Tire in Sturbridge for many years retiring due to illness, and previously worked at Paul's Automotive. He was a member of Notre Dame Church, VFW Post 6055 Men's Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus DeTriana Council, and the Polish Club. Paul enjoyed basketball, bowling, fishing, golfing, playing horsehoes, camping, and spending time at the beach with his family.
The funeral will be Tuesday Jan. 6th, from Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy Street (handicap entrance from Edward St.) Southbridge with a Mass at 10AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church 30 Charlton St. Southbridge. Calling hours will be Monday from 5-8PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society 20 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701
