Scottsdale/Dudley… Pauline A. (St.Laurent) Plouffe, 83, of Scottsdale, and formerly of Dudley, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at home following a long illness.
She leaves her husband of 64 years, Roger G. Plouffe, and 4 children, her loving daughter and caregiver Ann Marie and her husband Daniel A. Ellis of Dyer, IN, Susan Livernois of Thompson, CT, Arthur Plouffe and his wife Carol of Dudley, and Alan Plouffe of Spencer, MA, 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild . She was predeceased by her son Ronald Plouffe, and a sister Juliette Matte.
She was born in Southbridge, daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Guilbeault) St.Laurent, and lived many years in Southbridge before moving to Dudley in 1963, where she raised her family. She was a former longtime member of St. Stephen's Church in Quinebaug, CT, and presently a member of Resurrection Catholic Church inTempe. She was a retired nurse from Harrington Memorial Hospital, where she worked for 34 years., after retirement she and her husband moved to Arizona in 1995. At the Montecito Retirement Community in Tempe, AZ, she was voted Treasurer and Mayor serving for 12 years. She later moved to Scottsdale Village Square Retirement Community. In her retirement years, Pauline was a caregiver to many family members and friends. She was an avid reader, cook, and crafter. She was an expert at crossword puzzles, and enjoyed knitting beautiful items for loved ones. Pauline will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
