– Aurea R. Bonilla-Colon, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14th, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Aurea was born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico on January 9th, 1930, to Dolores Bonilla and Engracia Colon. Aurea was predeceased by her parents and her husband: Bernaldo Cruz-Ortiz. Aurea was very much loved by her family. Aurea leaves to cherish her memories, 5 daughters: Nereida Valentin, Matilde, Lydia, and Noemi Cruz, Aurea Diana, 5 sons: Jose A., Miguel A., Victor, and Edwin Cruz, Luis Diana, a sister: Carmen Bonilla, a brother: Luis Bonilla, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many family and friends. Visitation hours will be on Friday, February 21st, 2020, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday, February 22nd, 2020, from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109, There will be a Catholic Mass at 10 am, at Blessed Sacrament Church, 40 Waverly Street, Springfield, MA 01107, followed by a burial at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield, Massachusetts.
